About Boston’s Program
Read to a Child’s Read Aloud Mentoring Program in Greater Boston launched in 2002. The program currently serves over 800 at-risk children through nearly 1,100 volunteer reading mentors who participate each week at a local school. The Read Aloud Mentoring Program is offered at 16 public elementary schools in Greater Boston. Our volunteers come from our many corporate partners. Please note that the number of individual volunteer opportunities is limited at some of our schools.
If you are interested in volunteering as an individual volunteer, please first familiarize yourself with our Read Aloud Mentoring Program, verify that you are able to make the weekly lunchtime commitment throughout the school year, and determine if one of our school locations is convenient for you. Once you have done this, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
