The goal of this year’s Campaign is to raise $150,000 to enable us to reach more students in under-resourced communities and expand the program. Your support will ensure Read to a Child can continue to bring the power of reading aloud and mentorship to students who need it most.
The Read Aloud Mentoring Program utilizes thousands of volunteer reading mentors who read regularly to one-on-one to elementary students at under-resourced schools in the greater metro areas of Boston, Detroit, Hartford, and Los Angeles. The program is thoughtfully designed to address the intertwined challenges of student mental health and literacy.
