Greenberg Traurig’s Ian M. Ross Joins South Florida Regional Board of Read to a Child
MIAMI (April 25, 2014) – Ian M. Ross, a Shareholder with the Litigation Practice Group at the Miami office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, has joined the South Florida Regional Board of Read to a Child. In this role, he will help expand the reach of the organization in South Florida, including advising and supporting local management and working to raise Read to a Children’s profile in the community.
Read to a Child is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing literacy in children. As part of its literacy program, company employees and individuals volunteer to commit time as part of a lunchtime reading program where they read aloud to children and help improve their literacy skills.
“I am very excited and honored to be part of Read to a Child’s Regional Board,” Ross said. “Read to a Child is a fantastic organization and is dedicated to expanding its highly successful program to more schools in South Florida.”
At Greenberg Traurig, Ross represents corporations, directors, and officers, as well as professional service and accounting firms in commercial and securities litigation, professional liability actions, and government investigations. Recent representative cases include federal securities class actions, shareholder derivative suits, and state law class actions, as well as representation of clients in connection with investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Ross is also active in pro bono matters and has successfully represented refugees seeking political asylum in removal proceedings in immigration court.
His other community and professional involvement includes: Co-Chair, Young Professionals Group for Americans for Immigrant Justice, Executive Committee; Member, American Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division, Young Advocates Committee, and Vice-Chair, Litigation Committee; Member, Florida Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division; and Member, Friends of St. Jude Miami, Event Committee.
Ross received a law degree, cum laude, from Duke University School of Law in 2005 and a bachelor’s degree with general undergraduate and departmental honors from Johns Hopkins University in 2002.
