Kate Beattie is a partner in Foley & Lardner LLP’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. She handles litigation before federal and state courts, arbitrators, and administrative agencies, including state fair employment and human rights agencies. Kate represents and counsels clients on a wide range of issues, including leaves of absence, employee classification, and trade secret protection. She also provides training on anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policies and procedures as well as effective management practices. Prior to her role at Foley & Lardner, Kate was VP, Employment & Litigation Counsel at NTT Data Inc., where she was responsible for commercial and employment litigation matters in North America and India. She received a Bachelor of Arts from College of the Holy Cross and a J.D. from Boston College Law School.
Kate has been a champion for Read to a Child for more than 10 years, now serving as the Greater Boston Regional Board Chair, and as a member of the National Board of Directors. In her work with Read to a Child, Kate has brought in critical funding and new connections to help build Read to a Child’s profile in Greater Boston, including her own law firm and Read to a Child sponsor, Foley & Lardner. In honor of this work, Kate was honored with Read to a Child’s Literacy Champion Award in September 2024.
