Paul Lamoureux has been Read to a Child’s CEO since May 2015. Through his leadership, the organization has grown by 50% in both revenue and number of students served. During his tenure at Read to a Child, the organization’s profile has dramatically raised and has garnered support from more than 150 corporations, as well as athletes, politicians and authors throughout the country.
Mr. Lamoureux is a proven executive with 20 years as a leader in experiential education and 13 years in marketing. He has a record of developing successful educational programs and growing a mission-driven non-profit in both revenue and in impact.
Lamoureux has developed educational programs that have demonstrated evidence of success, have garnered national attention and have expanded educational opportunities for more than 30,000 students from under-resourced communities.
Prior to Read to a Child, Mr. Lamoureux spent nearly a decade at Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center in Boston where, in addition to developing programs and administering multi-million dollar budgets, he was a leader in risk and safety management, strategic planning, Board relations, marketing, sales, partnership and fundraising efforts.
Lamoureux worked closely with evaluators from the Rand Corporation, the National Institute of Out of School Time (NIOST), the Program in Education, Afterschool & Resiliency (PEAR), and The After School Corporation (TASC) in evaluating student’s social emotional learning development and growth and proficiency in Science, Math and English Learning Arts (ELA).
