Remote Read Aloud Program

In 2020, Read to a Child adapted its successful in-person Celebrity Reading Program and re-launched it as the Remote Read Aloud Program to provide supplemental read aloud content to students learning from home during the COVID-19 pandemic and to inspire students and their families to establish daily read aloud practices at home.

In the Remote Read Aloud Program, notable authors, celebrities, athletes and other guest readers read aloud to groups of children online via Zoom. These sessions are recorded and produced, resulting in visually interactive and educational videos that center on important themes of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. The Remote Read Aloud Program videos also include personal information from each author as well as lively Q&A sessions with the students on the call.

Thanks to our sponsors Winston & Strawn and The Guru Krupa Foundation for supporting Read to a Child’s vision with the Remote Read Aloud Program and making this entire library of read aloud videos accessible to our community.
