Due to the aftermath of hurricaine Irma, lunchtime reading kickoff is on hold until Miami schools re-open. We will let volunteers know their assignments and corresponding start dates as soon as possible.

The 4th Annual Miami Fundraiser will also be postponed until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience and we continue to keep Florida in our thoughts. For refunds on tickets, please contact lizzy.dugan@readtoachild.org

 About South Florida’s Program

Read to a Child’s South Florida office began operating in 2006 and was founded by a former Boston employee who was inspired to bring the program to children in her hometown of Miami.  Currently, the Read to a Child Lunchtime Reading Program is offered at two Miami-Dade Public Schools.

If you are interested in volunteering at one of our Miami Schools:

Please first familiarize yourself with our Lunchtime Reading Program, verify that you are able to make the weekly lunchtime commitment throughout the school year, and determine if one of our school locations is convenient for you. Once you are sure you want to enroll, complete an application HERE. Be prepared to enter your location, nearest school, and company (or select “Individual Reader” if you are not affiliated with a company).
